1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of shedspecs.co.nz, the public website operated by ShedSpecs Limited. Please read them when using the website or submitting an enquiry. If you do not agree, please stop using the website.
These are website terms only. Portal accounts, document purchases and other services are subject to the agreement and pricing presented for that service. Visiting this website or sending an enquiry does not create a project order, purchase, engineering engagement or portal account.
2. Website information and illustrations
The website describes our design workflow and services in general terms. Images, examples and illustrations are indicative and may show concepts or features that depend on the project, portal or service selected.
Website content is not project-specific engineering advice, a supplier quotation, a consent document or a construction instruction. Obtain appropriate project-specific professional advice, confirm site conditions and secure required approvals before ordering materials or beginning work.
We take reasonable care with website information, but availability, features and service descriptions can change. Confirm the current scope, price and timing with us or in the relevant portal before ordering.
3. ShedSpecs and engineering services
ShedSpecs provides the design workflow, project administration and document delivery. Structural engineering and Producer Statement PS1 services are provided by Infinity Consulting Engineers Limited, a separate professional services company responsible for its engineering services within the agreed scope.
A project must be assessed and accepted under its applicable service agreement. Portal access is subject to the eligibility and approval requirements shown in that portal. This website does not guarantee that a proposed project is supported, that a building consent will be granted or that a particular outcome or completion date can be achieved.
Preliminary plans and indicative material schedules are for feasibility, discussion and pricing. Use released detailed documents only for the identified project and site, as a complete set and subject to their stated scope, notes and limitations.
4. Enquiries and information you provide
Provide accurate, relevant information and ensure you have permission to share information about another person or project. Sending an enquiry allows us to review it, respond and coordinate the services you request; it does not commit you to buying services.
Do not submit confidential or sensitive information that is unnecessary for an initial enquiry. Project scope, fees, payment arrangements and delivery expectations must be confirmed through the relevant service process or a separate agreement.
5. Intellectual property
ShedSpecs or its licensors own the rights in the website, branding, text, images and design tools, including the ShedSpec Engine. You may view the website and share links to it for legitimate personal or business enquiries.
You must not copy, republish, sell or adapt protected website content without permission, except as permitted by law. Any rights to use project documents are governed by the applicable service agreement. Providing information to us does not transfer ownership of your material; you permit us to use it as needed to handle your enquiry and requested services.
6. Acceptable use
Use the website lawfully and respect the rights of others.
- Do not submit spam, malicious code, misleading enquiries or material you have no right to share.
- Do not attempt unauthorised access, bypass security checks or interfere with website operation.
- Do not scrape or automate requests in a way that disrupts the website or infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
7. Privacy and external links
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle website and enquiry information. Please read it before submitting personal information.
Links to portals, our engineering partner or other websites may take you to services with their own terms and privacy notices. We do not control independent third-party websites and are not responsible for their content or operation.
8. Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep the website available and accurate but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that it will always be free of errors. We may update, maintain or restrict access to the website, including to address security risks or misuse.
To the extent permitted by law, ShedSpecs is not liable for loss arising from website unavailability, third-party websites or reliance on general website information in place of project-specific advice. Responsibility for purchased services is addressed in the applicable service agreement.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986 and Privacy Act 2020. These website terms do not require you to acquire services in trade or contract out of consumer protections.
9. Updates and New Zealand law
We may update these website terms by publishing a revised version with an updated date. Changes apply to future website use and do not change an existing service agreement without following that agreement's change process.
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you. Please contact us first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it.
10. Contact
